Toward the Next View

Living in Brooklyn, it sometimes feels like everything I need is right here. My favorite coffee shop, the neighborhood park, the familiar streets I walk every day. And yet, every now and then, I find myself wanting to see a different view.

ブルックリンで暮らしていると、この街だけですべてが完結してしまう気がする。お気に入りのコーヒーショップも、公園も、いつもの通りもある。それでも時々、違う景色が見たくなる。

I don’t travel because I’m searching for the extraordinary. I travel to walk through unfamiliar streets, discover new landscapes, and expand my everyday world just a little.

That’s why I like to keep travel simple. Pack what I need, leave home, and head toward the next city. When there is less stress in getting there, there is more room to enjoy the journey itself.

旅に出る理由は、特別な何かを求めているからではない。知らない街を歩き、初めての景色に出会い、自分の日常を少しだけ広げたいからだと思う。

だから旅支度はできるだけシンプルであってほしい。荷物を詰めて、家を出て、そのまま次の街へ向かう。移動に余計なストレスがなければ、そのぶん旅そのものを楽しめる。
